Are Microsoft and Google in a war?

As soon as the Windows 10 anniversary update is out, millions of Windows customer are using Microsoft Edge browser. Microsoft has mentioned a number of reasons to use Microsoft Edge browser over Google Chrome.

The war does not start yet. Back in June, Microsoft highlighted how Microsoft Edge is a better browser than Google Chrome. Microsoft showcased in a vides that Edge browser not only works faster but also saves your battery very much.

Now as the Windows 10 anniversary update hits, the users are able to see that in the tips feature of Windows 10, Microsoft is trying to convince users to use Edge with a notification. The notification is action center reads, "Chrome is draining your battery faster" and also suggests, "Switch to Microsoft Edge for up to 36 percent more browsing time."

This is not something new. Even Google has also used similar tactics in the past, which still continues. On Google homepage Internet Explorer users may find a message that suggests users to ‘switch to Chrome’.

Google has never been a good supporter of Microsoft for years. Years before Microsoft introduced Windows Phone as a third horse in the smartphone market after Android and iOS. Microsoft had a hope from all developers to support the platform but a few of them did.

Google has not been good to Microsoft Windows Phone strategy, and only one Google app available on Windows store justifies the intention of Google. Windows fans believe that Google may give an excuse for Windows Phone not to bring its apps to the platform for Windows Phone’s low market share. But Google can’t justify it on Windows PC store. Windows has almost 90 % market share on PC. Yet the Google does not bring a single app for desktop as well, and which shows that Google has not a clear plan for Windows or Windows Phone.

Interestingly, almost every app which Microsoft has developed for its Windows users is available on Google store, which shows that Microsoft now only supports its own platform but others too.

Today Google also blocked Windows Phone users to connect their Gmail accounts in Outlook mail app. Which shows that Google does no longer believe in Windows Phone. The Windows fans are not happy with this move of Google.

Does Google fear of Windows Phone or is there any specific reason why Google looks to end support for Windows Phone users. Windows has the largest market share when comes to the desktop side. Thus Google must not be bias to support the platform on desktop side.

What is the future plan of Google for Windows store? What do you think guys? Let us know in the comment below.
